Mass General Brigham has received approval for an endoscopy-focused ASC in Cambridge, Mass., according to a Feb. 11 report from Hoodline.

The state’s Public Health Council green lit a 6,095-square-foot facility which will include three procedure rooms and 10 pre- and post-operative bays.

Mass General Brigham’s academic medical centers had more than 26,000 patients waiting for endoscopy procedures. The new ASC aims to work through the backlog.

New England Surgery Center, a joint venture between Mass General Brigham and Regent Surgical Health, will develop the center.

The ASC has a capital cost of about $7.3 million, the report said.
