Regent Surgical Health has partnered with St. Francis Hospital of Catholic Health Services of Long Island and 34 physician partners to develop East Hills Surgery Center. The newly opened center, East Hills Surgery Center, is the first ambulatory surgery center for St. Francis Hospital and Catholic Health Services of Long Island and is designed specifically to accommodate complex cases and procedures including total joint replacement and spine disorders.
“Driven largely by value-based care, the move of appropriate cases to outpatient surgery centers is playing a more significant role in the healthcare model of the future,” said Ruth E. Hennessey, EVP & Chief Administrative Officer of St. Francis Hospital. “This is an example of our commitment to stay ahead of trends in healthcare, bringing lower costs and better outcomes to patients.”
East Hills Surgery Center is a 15,000-square-foot multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center (ASC) located on St. Francis Hospital’s extensive ambulatory campus. The center, located at 2200 Northern Boulevard in Greenvale, N.Y., includes five operating rooms, four pre-operative, and 15 post-operative beds.
“We selected Regent based on their reputation and their experience developing and executing ambulatory strategies that benefit the hospital and physicians, but most importantly, the patients,” said Dr. Peter Stein, Board President and physician partner. “Regent has deep experience aligning the interests of all parties and we’re looking forward to a long and successful partnership. ”
“Our partners at East Hills Surgery Center are dedicated to enhancing quality, increasing convenience, improving the patient experience, and lowering costs,” said Robert Ryan, Chief Operating Officer at Regent Surgical Health. “A robust ambulatory platform is no longer optional. Hospitals like St. Francis Hospital are at the forefront and as a result, they are well positioned to embrace the risk and realize the opportunities ambulatory care platforms offer.”
Regent Surgical Health owns or operates 23 U.S. surgical facilities, 18 hospital joint ventures, and nine total joint replacement centers.
