POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Intelligence Engineer will be responsible for expanding our data warehouse through the ingestion of several new data sources, optimizing/tuning existing SQL queries and stored procedures, modeling data to meet business needs, automating several business processes, and developing front-end applications to efficiently cleanse and maintain business processes. This will require a skilled professional who can collect and analyze customer requirements, utilize a wide range of tools, and methodically implement solutions to achieve the company’s goals. As a core member of the team, this person will develop custom solutions that solve problems and improve business operations for internal and external stakeholders.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, deploy, maintain, and support high quality applications, including PowerApps user applications.
  • Automate business processes with Power Automate.
  • Use various connectors to connect disparate systems to Power Platform applications.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and support of business intelligence solutions, including data warehousing, metadata management, ETL processes, reports, and multidimensional cubes.
  • Address any source system data not currently present in centralized data repository.
  • Perform regular data validity and accuracy checks.
  • Construct efficient and well-optimized data structures and data links for diverse data sources, ensuring precision and efficient performance.
  • Assist in SharePoint customization and administrative duties.
  • Keep abreast of modern technologies and be aware of industry standards, best practices, and trends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development life cycle, relational modeling, and dimensional modeling.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL Development including SQL queries, stored procedures, query tuning, Azure Data Factory, etc.
  • Strong technical skills with BI tools including Power BI and DAX (data analysis expressions), SQL Server Reporting Services, and SQL Server Analysis Services, as well as demonstrable experience designing and integrating APIs
  • Experience in a healthcare environment preferred
  • Knowledge of Azure including Blob Storage and Data Factory, with an understanding of integration between the Power Platform and Azure Services.
  • Experience with Power Platform security concepts (business units, roles, and more).
  • Experience in data modeling, data visualization, and report development in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience in Front End Development including with C#, CSS, JS, Bootstrap, or HTML.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong analytic skills with the ability to extract, collect, organize, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex datasets for insights.
  • Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong organization and project management skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
