SpineNevada Minimally Invasive Spine Institute ranked No. 16 among providers nationwide SpineNevada Minimally Invasive Spine Institute, a comprehensive spine center in Northern Nevada, was recently named to Modern Healthcare’s 2015 national list of 100 “Best Places to Work in Healthcare.” The Regent partner center was the top-ranked spine center on the magazine’s list and the only Nevada provider to be recognized with the honor. Additionally, in the small providers/insurers category, SpineNevada was the No. 1 ranked medical practice. Dr. James Lynch, founder and spinal neurosurgeon at SpineNevada, recently explained the importance of this award.
“Early in the development of SpineNevada, we acknowledged the responsibility we have to both our staff and our patients to cultivate a workplace that brings out the best in our team,” Dr. Lynch said. “We’ve embraced an ongoing effort to monitor the workplace experience — and then take the appropriate actions toward improvement.” Among the 100 companies recognized in the Modern Healthcare list, SpineNevada was the No. 16 ranked provider and No. 32 overall. The rankings celebrate workplaces throughout the healthcare industry that empower their employees to provide patients and customers with the best possible care, products and services. The list was compiled using information gathered from employers and employees of companies with at least 25 employees. Employees were asked to evaluate their employer in eight areas, including leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, working environment, relationships with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits and overall satisfaction.
In its rankings, Modern Healthcare noted that SpineNevada has 1 percent voluntary employee turnover, as well as paid time off for community work, flexible hours, a compressed work week option, telecommuting options and workplace fitness facilities. SpineNevada employees surveyed for the list also praised the center’s merit-based pay, extra time off around the holiday season and weight-loss challenges. With recent growth, SpineNevada now includes a 62-person staff. “SpineNevada is a model organization within our industry,” said Tom Mallon, CEO of Regent Surgical Health. “On behalf of the entire Regent family, we congratulate our physician partners and the SpineNevada staff on this tremendous honor.”
