Two of Regent Surgical Health’s key leaders are on the agenda to speak at one of the industry’s most respected conferences for ambulatory surgery center (ASC) leaders, Becker’s ASC 24th Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs. Slated for October 26-28, 2017 at Swissotel, Chicago, IL, the conference is expected to draw more than 1,500 attendees from ASCs across the nation.
Don Phalen, Regent’s Vice President, Business Development, will present “Top Trends for Ambulatory Surgery Centers in 2018” on Friday, October 27 and will be joined by Mark Murphy, Chief Strategy Officer at St. Joseph’s Health. According to Phalen, technical advances in anesthesia, orthopedic devices, and surgical procedures, coupled with shifting payer models, are changing the game and creating opportunity for hospital-surgeon ASC joint ventures focused on spine and orthopedics. Additionally, Phalen and Murphy will discuss hospital outpatient department (HOPD) conversions, why bundled payments are the fastest growing payment type, and the rise of specialty centers.
Earlier that day, Regent’s Vice President, Operations, Stephanie Martin, RN, CNOR, CASC, will address the conference as part of a panel discussion on the topic, “Moving the Needle on Supply Chain Excellence and Inventory Management.” She will be joined by Paula Counts, RN, Administrator, at East Tennessee Ambulatory Surgery Center for the panel, which will be moderated by Mackenzie Bean, Writer/Reporter, Becker’s Healthcare. The panel discussion will take place on Friday, October 27 from 9:40 to 10:40 a.m.
Becker’s ASC Annual Meeting offers 100+ sessions, featuring more than 190 speakers, including surgeons, physician leaders, administrators, and ASC business and clinical leaders. The agenda also includes planned time for networking with attendees and exhibitors.
