The Plaza Surgery Center is officially opened for business. After years of careful planning, Regent Surgical Health, our physician partners and the Providence Portland Medical Center officially opened the Plaza Ambulatory Surgery Center in Portland, Ore., on Friday, May 30. Plaza Ambulatory Surgery Center, which will serve thousands of patients annually, sits on the campus of Providence Health & Service’s not-for-profit Providence Portland Medical Center, a 483-bed facility. With nearly 70,000 employees and more than 3,000 physicians, Providence Health & Services network is the largest private employer in Oregon. The new ASC specializes in podiatry, pain management, ENT, ortho/hand, urology, neurology and general surgery. It also represents the 18th hospital/physician joint venture for our surgery center management and development company. Overall, Regent now owns or serves 22 surgical facilities in the United States and Europe. The Regent joint-venture ASC business model is a proven ownership structure that promotes excellent patient care, creates successful, lasting businesses, and provides physicians an opportunity to develop and invest in their local practices.
