WESTCHESTER, IL, May 8, 2014 – Regent Surgical Health, an industry-leading surgery center management and development company specializing in physician/hospital ASC joint ventures, today announced the company’s CEO, Tom Mallon, and CDO, Jeffrey Simmons, will be featured speakers at Becker’s Hospital Review 5th Annual Meeting in Chicago. Together, Mallon and Simmons will present “Building a Physician/Hospital ASC Joint Venture that Lasts” from 3:05-3:45pm on May 16 at the Swissotel in downtown Chicago. In the presentation, the Regent executives will share strategies hospitals can use to structure ASC joint ventures to benefit both the hospitals and physician investors. “Hospitals seeking to keep cases in-network should be considering ways they can establish relationships with successful physicians,” said Simmons. “A properly structured physician/hospital surgery center joint venture will help hospital administrators retain and grow surgical volume while providing physicians a hedge against shrinking payer reimbursements. Over the last decade at Regent we have made creating these arrangements the top focus of our business, and I look forward to sharing with attendees at the Becker’s conference what we have learned.” Mallon will also appear on a keynote panel titled “5 Key Issues Facing Hospitals in 2014” with executives from Strong Memorial Hospital, Mission Health, and Mercy Health Partners on Saturday, May 17 at 8:10am. “Developing a strong outpatient strategy should be at the forefront of every administrator’s mind this year,” said Mallon. “Providers can no longer rely on old referral networks. They need to be thinking strategically for ways to firmly secure case volume. Creating a joint venture with physicians is a strategy for accomplishing just that, and I plan to share what we’ve learned to be best practices during the panel.”
