Regent Surgical Health’s Annual Clinical Quality Excellence Award was recently given to the team at Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Endosurgical Center in East Brunswick, NJ. Led by Carol Poppiti, Administrator and Director of Nursing, the center scored higher than any other Regent ASC in the nation on a variety of clinical benchmarks including physician, employee, and patient satisfaction scores; financial measures; clinical reviews; and support for Regent’s R.I.S.E. values (Respectful Caring, Integrity, Stewardship, and Efficiency).
The award was presented at Regent’s Annual Directors of Nursing Conference, recognizing Ms. Poppiti for her leadership and over 16 years of service at the center.
“Carol’s leadership qualities are among the best across all our administrators,” said Kathy Bernicky, Regent’s Vice President of Risk Management and Clinical Operations. “She has led her center to financial success, and manages her staff exceptionally well as well as the center’s surgeons, which is one reason her center’s satisfaction scores are so high. In addition, she has been a great proponent and active leader in engaging staff and hosting ongoing activities related to Regent’s R.I.S.E. values.”
The Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Endosurgical Center is a 6,800 square-foot state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center offering the highest quality of care with the most advanced medical technology and equipment. It is a joint venture between Regent Surgical Health, local physicians, and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, offering fully equipped operating rooms, a recovery room, a post recovery room, and a spacious waiting room.
“We like to recognize our center leaders for their accomplishments and their hard work, so annually Regent hosts a National Directors of Nursing Conference where we bring everyone together to share and celebrate,” Bernicky said. “While the award is given to the top performing center, it’s fitting that Carol Poppiti accepted it for Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Endosurgical this year. She’s the one that makes it all happen there.”
