Congratulations to Regent’s ASC partner in Reno, Nevada! SpineNevada Minimally Invasive Spine Institute was recognized among Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work for the second consecutive year, ranking as the #1 number spine practice and #2 in the small provider/insurer category (25-249 employees). SpineNevada ranked 35th overall in this prestigious national Modern Healthcare listing, which singles out and recognizes outstanding employers in the healthcare industry.
Rapidly growing in both size and reputation, SpineNevada more than doubled in number of employees from summer 2015 to the same time this summer. And by year-end, practice manager Debbie Koch expects the neck and back pain treatment center to have more than 80 employees at four locations. Voluntary employee turnover is just 1%.
“Our growth means staff members have the chance, and a push, to learn new things; and the company is committed to providing the training employees might need,” Koch told Modern Healthcare.
Spine Nevada’s employees consider the company a great place to work because its owner, neurosurgeon Dr. James Lynch, keeps looking for new challenges, and new ways to challenge employees to reach their potential, Koch continued. The institute started out mostly treating back pain, but has added vascular treatment, and, recently, a new physical therapist focused on treating women.
“It’s a great pleasure to share this national recognition with each SpineNevada team member. When you invest in a positive work experience for the clinical staff, positive patient satisfaction will follow,” explains Dr. James Lynch.
Modern Healthcare reports that among the benefits SpineNevada’s employees love are free or discounted tickets to local family entertainment or sporting events; flexible scheduling to accommodate family needs; and access to a gym, personal trainers, physical therapists. The company also has many employee-friendly policies, including bonuses and flexible hours to allow for things like school events and doctor appointments.
“But the chance for professional advancement in a fast-changing organization is what drives many who work there,” Koch said. “People grow with our growth.”
SpineNevada’s founder Dr. James Lynch is a Board-certified and Fellowship-Trained Spinal Neurosurgeon and performs more than 500 spine surgeries per year. He specializes in complex spine surgery, cervical disorders, degenerative spine, spinal deformities, trauma, tumor infection and minimally invasive spine surgery. In addition, as a leading authority on Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) development, Dr. Lynch lectures at national meetings on outpatient spine surgery and minimally invasive spine surgery has been published in leading journals. He also serves as a Partner and Director of Spine Services at Regent Surgical Health.
“We are very proud of our partner SpineNevada in Reno,” says Chris Bishop, Regent’s CEO. “Their commitment to their staff and their patients is exceptional; They share a similar value set to ours at Regent and their recognition among the best is well-deserved.”
